|Sheriff's Office Purchase new K-9|
The White County Sheriff’s Office has recently purchased a new K9 that has been added to the patrol division. The new K9, with the name of Rico, was purchased from Von Klein Stein Working Dogs in Sherwood. Rico, an 18 month old Hungarian Shepherd, is trained in the detection of narcotics as well as tracking humans. Rico and his handler, Deputy Kyle Toler, completed their training on February 8th. Deputy Toler has been with the White County Sheriff’s Office since 2003 and will be responsible for Rico and will keep him at his residence. Rico was purchased with money seized from drug dealers in White County.
Sheriff Ricky Shourd stated that adding Rico to this department along with already having K9 “Magic” will greatly aid law enforcement in White County in the battle against the movement of narcotics through our county. Everyone already knows “Magic” as the “Million Dollar Dog”. Now with us having two K9’s we hope to take even more narcotics and drug money off of the streets.
