About our Town

The City of Judsonia, located in central White County, is a quaint small town with friendly people. The scenic Little Red River forms the south border of our town. Our city is governed by Mayor Rickey Veach, six City Council members and Recorder/Treasurer La Junta Whitener. We have a dedicated police force headed by Chief Ray Coffman, one full time officer, Lieutenant Robert Parsons, and four part-time officers who strive to control crime. The Judsonia Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school, fire department, public library, bank, post office, City Municipal Building, water department and other businesses are conveniently located downtown. We have nine churches, several convenience stores, restaurants, dollar store, pharmacy, flea markets, fruit stands and car dealerships for the residents to patronize.

Judsonia has three parks that are maintained by the city: The shady W.E. Orr Park & Community Building on Van Buren Street downtown, Judsonia Ball Field on Hwy. 367 and Friendly Acres Park (map), located on Hwy 13, which offers playground equipment, walking trail, fish pond, and pavilions. For elderly and handicapped citizens, there are two housing apartment units plus a Senior Citizens Center that serves lunch four days a week.

Newcomers are always welcome in Judsonia, whether for a short visit or to make Judsonia your hometown. We encourage you to attend our annual events: Summer Blast held on July 4th and the Prospect Bluff Days Festival that is held the first weekend in October.
